Eastern Village Lofts

Cheryl McKissack Daniels’ company, McKissack, provided expert General Contracting services for the adaptive reuse of a historically significant 60,000 sq.ft. building, originally constructed in 1930. This $4.9 million project transformed the first-floor industrial space into a modern, multi-use facility while preserving the building’s historic charm. The renovation included the creation of a 6,000 sq.ft. daycare center, designed with a focus on safety, functionality, and community engagement. Additionally, the project featured the development of an open-use storage facility, offering flexible space for tenants. A small commercial coffee shop was also added at the property’s street front, enhancing its accessibility and serving as a welcoming spot for the surrounding neighborhood.

This project reflects McKissack’s commitment to preserving historic architecture while repurposing spaces to meet the evolving needs of the community.
